Professor Chia-Hua Kuo is the Honorary President of ANSSH. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Sports Nutrition and Human Metabolism. His research focuses on how human skeletal muscle converts exercise-induced cellular damage into health benefits: such as improved physical performance, body composition, and healthy aging, and how nutritional factors influence the reparative mechanisms involved in muscle rejuvenation. With over 300 peer-reviewed journal publications (Scopus ID: 26660722900), Professor Kuo serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine and has served on the Editorial Boards of Sports Medicine and Health Science and the Journal of Science in Sport and Exercise. His academic appointments include Professor at the Education University of Hong Kong (starting August 1, 2025), Visiting Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Parma (Italy), Founding President of the Taiwan Society for Sports Nutrition. In recognition of his contributions, he has been honored as: Distinguished Professor at the University of Taipei, World-Class Professor in Indonesia, Chair Professor at Soochow University (China), Honorary Professor at the University of Jordan, Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.
