Prof. Alkhatib is a globally renowned expert in health nutrition and exercise science. He currently leads public health and preventative healthcare at the University of Teesside in the UK. His research focusses on disease prevention lifestyle approaches using functional foods, and innovative prescription of exercise and physical activity, especially in diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Prof. Alkhatib spent over twenty five years developing numerous successful academic, research and clinical programs at top UK universities (Teesside, Greenwich, Sheffield Hallam, Lincoln, Abertay Dundee, Taipei), and around globe helping create new departments in diabetes epidemiology, public Health, and sport science in Kuwait, Qatar, and Taiwan where he is an Executive of the Asian Nutrition Society for Sport and Health. Prof. Alkhatib is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, a registered Nutritionist, and has over 100 publications in top ranking journals, and three books.
