Dr. Naruemon Leelayuwat, a well-known Exercise Physiologist in Thailand, specialized in Sports Nutrition and Metabolism. She received doctoral degree from School of Biomedical Sciences, The University of Nottingham, UK in 2003. She is currently working for Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University since 1983, and become Director of Exercise and Sport Sciences Postgraduate Program and Head of Exercise and Sport Sciences Research and Development Group at Khon Kaen University since 2009. She published and reviewed many peer-reviewed international journal papers relating exercise and nutrition. Her recent works focus on investigating the effects of gender and intensity of exercise on metabolism, immune and autonomic functions in athletes, and patients with diabetes type 2, dyslipidaemia, and metabolic syndrome. She also investigates the potential values of nutritional products including vitamin C, cashew apple juice, rice bran, and Phyllanthus Amarus for sports activity. In addition, she plans to explore molecular mechanism of metabolism and immune responses to nutrition, exercise and aging in trained and untrained Thai population.
